Pink had the honor of inducting Dolly Parton into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame during the 37th annual ceremony on November 5, 2022, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California. Backed by the Zac Brown Band, Dolly Parton performed two songs at the ceremony, with the other track being the appropriately titled “Rockin’ It.” The performance was a fitting celebration of her illustrious career and her newfound status as a rock star.
Initially, Dolly Parton had considered withdrawing from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction after feeling unworthy of the honor. However, after reflecting on the significance of the recognition, she decided to accept it. In her acceptance speech, Parton proudly proclaimed, “I’m a rock star now!” She went on to explain her initial hesitation, stating, “I’m sure a lot of you knew that back when they said they were gonna put me in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I didn’t feel like I had done enough to deserve that. And I didn’t understand at the time that it’s about more than that. But I’m just so honoured and so proud to be here tonight.”
